The portraits of the Chelsea Pensioners were painted to raise funds for the Royal Hospital Appeal. The monies raised went towards the new wing of the hospital which is now complete. The works have been donated by the benefactor to hang permanently in this space and are now in place. The new wing was officially opened March 2009 by HRH the Prince of Wales. |
